Managing Director
Suru formed EWwS Limited after successfully heading up a wastewater treatment company for 43 years. Suru is a well-known figure within the wastewater treatment industry, with his encyclopedic knowledge of wastewater treatment combined with his vast experience in the field of biodegradable components in wastewater solutions.
He has been an advisor to the Wastewater Treatment Industry and has developed, designed and installed wastewater treatment systems requiring high effluent standards all over the world. His NIFAS technology treats influents to higher discharge standards and reuses energy normally lost with the treated wastewater, reducing the carbon footprint.
Dr George Chi Tangyie
Technical Director (BEng, MSc, PhD, MRSC)
George is results-oriented with over 18 years of expertise in the design of water/wastewater treatment processes. His background includes both academic research and industrial experience.
He interprets client briefs, coordinates design and bid development, and oversees technical project delivery with a focus on completeness, resource efficiency, Health & Safety, sustainability, and environmental friendliness. He leads our R&D department, seeking improvements and innovation.
Alastair McInnes
Contract Engineer
Alastair has 40 years of experience in the wastewater treatment industry. His expertise lies in the design, build, and installation of wastewater treatment systems.
As Contract Engineer, he oversees projects from start to finish, ensuring specifications, timelines, and customer communication are all maintained at a high standard.
Karen Miles
Office Manager / Finance
With a background in banking, Karen transitioned into finance and accounts and has 30 years of experience. She joined the wastewater industry 6 years ago.
Karen focuses on financial stability and project costings and has shown a talent for customer communication. She also led the creation and development of the EWwS website and is expanding into marketing.
Carlos Mateus
Sales
Carlos has 6 years of experience in wastewater treatment. He is responsible for sales, after-sales support, and designing treatment plants that meet specific discharge standards.
Each plant is uniquely tailored to ensure that client expectations are met in terms of performance and compliance.
Mark Tipples
General Manager
Mark has over 10 years’ experience in wastewater treatment. He manages the manufacturing of GRP tanks, RBCs, and packaged plants.
He has excellent knowledge of suppliers and can source parts quickly and cost-effectively — especially valuable in emergencies. His background also includes manufacturing, stock control, and procurement, all contributing to OTIF delivery.
Holly Palmer
Purchasing
Holly has 6 years of wastewater industry experience. She began as an Administrative Assistant and rose to Contracts Manager, managing multiple sites and corporate clients.
Now leading procurement, Holly ensures efficient sourcing of goods and services essential to company operations.
Leigh Crook & Neil Packer
Site Installation Team
Leigh and Neil bring over 40 years of combined experience in installing and maintaining sewage treatment systems across the UK and abroad.
They are certified in confined space work, slinger and banksman, CSCS, Safepass, and more. They are vital to successful field operations.
