What is a Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR)?
A Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) system consists of an aeration tank (similar to an activated sludge tank) with special plastic media that provide a surface where a biofilm can grow. Environmental Wastewater Solutions (EWwS) Ltd MBBR technology incorporates the use of highly advanced MBBR media, allowing for an increased surface area up to 900m2/m3 resulting in a more efficient aeration design with effective media mixing.
